Queen of Thorns has the dpl script in her skill section and the skills use the skillbox template. Categories are bare minimum needed. Waiting until category structure is decided. Aroddo 23:43, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Why are we doing this? Skills is something that will almost never change. All the work is already done by hand, so it's not like it'll save us the effort.
Finally, and most importantly, the dpl doesn't allow us to control the order of appearence of the skills (for example, Venom Spit should come before Putrid Flow, and Morale/Enhanced Attributes should always come last). Dpl doesn't allow us to show dependency through tabs either.
Is there a way to "subs" dpl? As in generate wiki code we can tune by hand later? THAT would be awsome. OTherwise, I really don't think we are gaining anything here. Happypal 07:13, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
Well, first it's cool. And even if they don't change too much, skills can be referenced from different pages. I started working in that direction because every DG had a link to an empty DG skills main page. With dpl (and a good skill box) we can both do the short list on the DG side, AND a skill main page using dpl to do something like this: User:Aroddo#Full_Skill_Box_Quote. And second, the dpl does allow us to control the order of the skills. You can set an order criteria and add an order priority value to the skill. Third, I don't understand what you mean with dependency tabs or "subs".

Oh, and Fourth: once the skillboxes are done we can do all sorts of queries. A table that lists all abilities that slow an enemy down, listing passive skills with attack bonus, etc.Aroddo 11:01, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
What he means by "subs" is actually "subst:" which stands for substition. Read about it how it works at wikipedia. JoePlay (talk) 18:31, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
What I mean by dependency is this: Unclean Beast#Skills. We can obviously see that Putrid Flow]] is specialization of Venom Spit. I think we should add a field to the skills called "skill number", so that the skills appear on the demigod page in their "natural order", if you know what I mean...? I think PDL is, of course, cool. We can do a bunch of stuff with it. But the end result is I think we get a better result without it, for the listing the skills on the demigod pages. It would be helpful for queries, as you say, but that is not what we are doing here. Happypal 16:49, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
